Dove is not worried about being reported, the fines are just a business cost to them. They were fined $70,000 a few months back which didn't faze them as they paid it from the $100 million+ that their scam had already generated.

Think I'm going to set up my PC to call their 800 number repeatedly with the request to remove my number from their calling list. While they may be considered a charity, they still have to abide by certain guidelines: Calling times are restricted to the hours between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Telemarketers must promptly tell you the identity of the seller or charitable organization and that the call is a sales call or a charitable solicitation. Telemarketers must disclose all material information about the goods or services they are offering and the terms of the sale. They are prohibited from lying about any terms of their offer. Charities are not covered by the requirements of the national registry. However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $11,000. If the call is really for the sole purpose of conducting a survey, it is not covered. Only telemarketing calls are covered — that is, calls that solicit sales of goods or services. Callers purporting to take a survey, but also offering to sell goods or services, must comply with the National Do Not Call Registry. More info can be found here: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.pdf One last thought: If everyone getting these calls would take the time to call the Dove foundation's (not Unilever's Dove soap division) 800 number and submit complaints on their feedbackform (www.dove.org) it will utilize their resources and make them aware of how unwelcome this behavior is. If they continue to call repeatedly after being asked to stop, contact your phone carrier with times/dates of the calls and file a complaint against them for making harassing calls.

same here, still calling even though I'm on the do not call list. Call after 8:00 pm which is also a rule for solicating. So who stips them of their number and calls them late into the evenings. Aren't we supposed to be watching "family" television during this time?

I think since they're a non profit they don't technically have to honor the do not call list.

Their website is at http://www.dove.org. Funny how they approve of Spiderman 3, and in their review they show a pic of Spiderman punching a hole in someone's stomach. I guess violence is OK, just don't show any sex.
