Reverse Phone Number Lookup

Got a few calls from that # over the past few days, looking for someone I've never heard of (probably the guy who had the # before me). They said they were Encore. I told them, in a rather pissed off voice, to stop calling me. I'll have to block that # if they persist.

Google : Fair Debt Collection Act It is the federal law which governs debt collection agencies ect.. One of the two biggest rules are: debt collectors can only legally call between 8a.m. and 9p.m. (section 805a of debt collection act) The other is: A creditor may NOT intentionally harrass or abuse by repeated or continuous calling (section 806 of debt collection act)

This # called me five or six times today... I didn't pick up any of the times, because I didn't recognize the number... damn if this # starts calling me as much as it calls some of you guys... I'm gonna get real irritated.

I too am getting the same harrassing phone calls from these fleabags. 10 or more times a day from early morning to late night 7 days. One option that can be explored is to contact your local Police Dept, file a report and get a CR# (case report) and then contact your phone company. ATT says they need this number. They should be able to put a "trap" on your line for encore's phone numbers and document dates and times of calls. As long as the debt is not valid, this, I am told, will provide enough information to file phone harrassment charges legally. The neat thing about this method is you file in your county and they have to answer in your county, hopefully at substantial cost to them. If enough people do this, it will cost them to much to for them continue all the BS calls. I am in the process of this now. So far so good. Contact your phone provider anyway as they may be able to help. Remember there is still strength in numbers!!!!!

I get a good 10 calls a day from this company usually starting around 8 AM and ending at 10 PM eastern time.. so sick of it. The funny thing is the debt they claim is for GE Credit Card for when I bought appliances.... i have paid the card ON TIME every mointh just got a letter stating they want all the debt up front.. go to hell

Just got my 4th call today, started getting the first calls about 3 days ago. I've read through the post and the company stuff and it doesn't tell me why they are calling though. I have no debt, or credit cards for that fact. So is this a scam? I agree if someone can't be on the phone when i pick up then they don't get my time. All i heard when i picked up is silence. So i guess that's all they will get from me. What a suck company LOL. Go away, shoo fly shoo..

this is encore collection agency trying to collect some BAD debts from one of its customers, which is GE MONEY, CREDIT CARE. the calls are annoying.

Go to this website for instructions on how to get them to stop calling. If it ends up that they verify that the debt is valid they are within their rights to call unless you decide to claim BK. They call my home as well. Everyday including Sunday. 5-10 times/day. They continue to ask for someone who does not live at this number (I have no clue who they're looking for). I have talked to the operator at least a dozen times to have my number removed from the list. They continue to call.... If anyone finds a solution to make them stop, please let us know!!!

I got a call from them and they would not tell me the company name and I told her I would not give her any of my info unless she told me what the company name was and she said she could not give me any information unless I gave her my phone number and I said again not until I know who you are and she said she could not give out that information. That has to be illegal in some capacity or a scam. I said okay good bye and I hung up on her.

received a call yesterday from this number and also today.

Again.. they have continued to annoy me.. with up to 10 or more calls a day. Every day too.

Is there anything we can do about this? I get sick of it also. several times a day. 7 days a week

They call me constantly and don't leave messages. I even gets calls as early as 7am on Sunday mornings.

Just got my first call, sure to get more they asked me to hold I wish I could block calls but all I can do is just hang up or not answer. Funny, my caller ID said telemarketer, I guess since my Vonage phone will not accept anonymous or unknown numbers. Anyway when I answered it was a recording that said it was an important call for me and was not a telemarketer so I hung up. Lovely!

this frigging number calls all day look 6 to 8 times a day and weekends it is so annoying how do we stop it?

This number has called me three times in the last hour!!!

4 to 5 times a day they call say thing as above. I answer and get please hold. WTF if a person can not call me i do nt have the time in the day to hold for them.

The company is based out of Manassas, VA.

I got a phone call from a number similar, ends in 3, not 0, and same thing - they don't answer when I call the number back, reverse phone lookup brings up nothing, etc. It's annoying because I live overseas and this is a vonage (through the internet) phone line, so I get calls between 2am - 6am quite frequently from them. SO IRRITATING! I'm about to change my phone number just because of this!

I get at least 10 calls a day from this number. I answer & the same thing, hold for next available...I hang up, within 1 hour, they are calling me back.

Same thing here. They call multiple times per day, every day of the week on my cell. I just refuse to answer it anymore. I have no idea what it's in referance to.

This number calls me about 5 times a day. I call back and they say they are a company name Encore. I won't give details. Or I answer, and they hung up or say "hello, hello". I hang up. This is sooooo annoying.

I get the same, I answered and said nothing... a woman said hello......hello....... hello......hello.... EFF THEM. They are scam collectors. Trying to collect on paid/old/outdated debt. These companies try try try and fail and another company buys the debt from them and the cycle carries on until the statutes of limitations are passed.... and they try beyond that.

Called them back. Says they are Encore (sp?) a financial institution. She wouldnt give specifics unless I gave her my phone number. I hung up.
